Mandrel Bent Systems

Mandrel-bending is a manufacturing process that bends exhaust tubing without changing the diameter of the tubing throughout the bend. This process allows us to accurately route your system where it should go without causing any restriction, the interior of the tubing is the same size in the bends as it is in the straight sections.

TIG Welding

If welding was a monarchy, TIG welding would be king. TIG welding is one of the most effective processes available to join two pieces of metal together for a very long time. By utilizing TIG, we can offer a stronger weld with better penetration than alternative forms of welding popular today. Although more time consuming and labor intensive, we feel that TIG welding is the only way to do our customers justice. All of our exhaust pipes that are welded utilize this process as well as most of our flanges and flares attached to turbo down pipes. Since our systems feature the best heavy-duty machined flanges and flares, we decided that no less than TIG welding would be appropriate to bring these pieces together. Forever.

Aluminized, 15 and 16 Gauge Steel Exhaust Pipes

Some companies will tell you that they use thinner wall tubing to give you the largest interior diameter as possible and also achieve lighter system weights. In this case the only thing you really get is thinner pipe that is more prone to be damaged through shipping, installation & use. Thinner exhaust tubing is obviously not going to last as long either. All of our systems are fabricated out of 15-16 gauge aluminized exhaust tubing to ensure that you receive the best-performing and longest-lasting system possible. We believe that quality, American-made aluminized steel will last better and handle more punishment dealt out by the environment and your right foot than alternative materials. Some competitors will use stainless steel tubing in their systems and claim that they will last quite a bit longer than anyone else’s product. Not all stainless is created equal.

Two basic types are common in exhaust: 409 grade stainless steel which contain certain carbon metal alloys to make it easier to manipulate and bend, and will surface rust and corrode under normal use. 304 grade stainless steel which contains chromium and nickel alloys to make it a stronger, denser material than 409 grade. 304 stainless steel tends to fatigue after forming into bends and shapes due mainly to its denser composition. On top of 304 being a fickle material to work with, its cost can be very prohibitive to the consumer. Expect not to gain much bang from your buck. Polished stainless steel systems (sometimes made from 409 grade) might look flashy out of the box, but let it get wet under your truck and what do you know, the system will show rust and corrosion through that once-beautiful finish.

With so many different types of stainless steel out there, you just can’t be sure that all companies are using quality materials. The problem is that stainless steel doesn’t necessarily mean rust-and-corrosion proof. Stainless steel fatigues very rapidly with heat. While not all stainless will corrode, it will crack and break due to the heating and cooling cycles of driving your vehicle under normal conditions. Compounding this problem is overseas steel quality. Some original equipment manufacturers have actually started to go back to aluminized tubing on new vehicles. Aluminized tubing is also much more cost-effective for both you and us. Don’t be fooled by the hype, trust what’s already been proven.

Machined Turbo Flares and Flanges

While all of our exhaust systems feature quality fabricated components, only machined heavy-gauge flares and flanges offer the absolute best performance from your vehicle. Located directly where the turbo down pipe attaches to the turbo on your engine, these flanges turn the weakest point of your system into one of the strongest. Machine flares will not distort under extreme heat coming from the turbo eliminating leak issues. Machine flares will also aid in the dissipation of heat away from the turbo resulting in lower exhaust gas temperatures, giving you a more efficiently performing engine. These flares will not fatigue and crack unlike thin walled exhaust tubing used by most of our competitors. Heavy-duty construction provides problem-free usage for the life of your vehicle.

Clamp-on exhaust hanger kits vs. welded hangers

Exhaust systems are mounted in rubber to the frame of your vehicle for a reason. Your exhaust is designed to shake, vibrate and move with the torque of your vehicle’s engine. Complete, clamp-on hanger kits specifically designed for each application are included with most of our performance exhaust systems. Why clamp-on you ask? A few reasons actually:

  1. Welded-on hangers are weak. The surface area is greatly affected when welding a hanger rod to an exhaust pipe. The hanger will not break on the weld, but it will break next to that weld. Are you going to put your faith into something that has a weak-spot manufactured into the design? Of course not, if one of the hangers does breaks, and it will break, you either have to weld a new hanger next to what’s left of the old one or patch the exhaust pipe first where the old hanger ripped a hole in it.

  2. We do not live in a perfect world. Welded hangers can be attached out of alignment or bent in fabrication and shipping. When you’re lying on your back underneath your truck, the last discovery you want to make is that the hangers don’t line up. Unless you have your own welder, this could be a problem. No problem with our hangers because of the freely adjustable design. Once you have all of the tubes in place, the hangers as well will be in their respective spots, just tighten them down and go.

  3. Our hangers are designed to be extra strong also. Think about it, welding a hanger to an exhaust clamp is stronger than welding that same hanger to a round pipe. Kind of like why the square peg would never fit through the round hole in preschool. Plus, all exhaust pipes are TIG welded in-house to ensure the strongest and best looking weld possible.

Custom designed systems and mufflers for easy installation & minimal modification All exhaust systems are designed in-house to ensure the most accurate fit & best performance possible. Each respective vehicle is brought directly to the manufacturing facility to remove & evaluate the original equipment system to see where improvements can be made. Once that process is complete, designers fabricate only the best performing systems while keeping those systems routed as close to original equipment as possible. The same technicians that design the systems also supervise the manufacturing process, ensuring that only high-quality systems go out the door. By keeping product design within our control we can ensure that our product not only performs well, but also looks good on the vehicle. No unsightly pipes or mufflers hanging down underneath your vehicle. Likewise, all of our all-welded mufflers are built to our specifications utilizing only the highest standards possible by reputable North American suppliers.

Made in the USA

All of our exhaust systems and the majority of the materials are hand-fabricated here in the United States by hardworking Americans. We feel that this helps us in possessing the best quality product available, we are not merely distributors for overseas manufacturers. While some competitors try to save money by ordering their systems from Asia and other locations, we sleep well at night knowing that we support our own economy.
